The Girls Youth Parliament will be a platform for 100 bright young girls from diverse ethnicities and backgrounds to engage in discussions and debates about national issues of public concern. In this mock parliament, the young women will discuss issues that not only concern them but also the whole country. Despite making up 51.04% of the country's population, women still lag in terms of political representation, policy-making, and parliamentary debates. Their participation will promote the democratic practice of inclusion by presenting the most convincing arguments on the issue.
This program will enhance the importance of women's participation in discussions on national issues. The program will follow the same format as our real parliament does. It is designed for young women to discuss and debate pressing social, economic, and political issues that affect the entire nation. This program aims to introduce participants to parliamentary processes and allow them to influence national policy-making.
